Patanjali Yogpeeth is a Yoga and Ayurvedic research institute, named after sage Patanjali and founded by Baba Ramdev. It is a famous destination for visitors for yoga, ayurvedic treatment, and medication. This ashram comprises a Research institute, Ayurveda college, Yoga Bhavan, Panchakarma center. It is the largest Yoga institute in the world.
Patanjali Yogpeeth is a huge complex with a spacious environment, with a lush green garden with colorful flowers. One can go inside the factories with permission.
History
Baba Ram Dev along with Swami Shankar Dev founded the Patanjali trust in 1995. Acharya Balkrishna, a great follower of Baba Ramdev, also joined them in the trust. Over the years, with hard work and dedication, they created a huge organization.

Patanjali Yogpeeth
Patanjali Yogpeeth comprises three campuses, located in close proximity, and are named as Patanjali Yogpeeth - I, Patanjali Yogpeeth - II, and Herbal Garden & Research Centre.
Patanjali Yogpeeth - I
This campus mainly comprises Patanjali Ayurveda College and Hospital. This facility was commissioned in 2010 as a university. The Ayurveda hospital is equipped with all the modern facilities and offers all kinds of treatment to the patients including surgery. They provide ‘Panchakarma treatment’ in accordance with ancient traditions.
Other facilities on this campus include Annapurna (Canteen), Post Office, Library & Cyber Cafe, Patanjali Shop, Bank & ATM, Cloak Room, etc.
Patanjali Yogpeeth - II
This campus was inaugurated in the year 2009. This campus offers the following facilities:
Yog Bhavan
Yog Bhavan is a 2,00,000 sq.ft..huge auditorium, where thousands of people can participate in the yoga sessions. Daily and occasional yoga camps are held in this auditorium.Residential Facility
There are seven blocks with 800 two-bed and 130 three-bed rooms available with A/C and non A/C options. The prices range from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1250 per day.Free Residential Facility
It is called Valmiki Dharmashala, which offers free stay for three days to the poor who come for treatment. After three days, there are nominal fees to be paid. It is a dormitory facility and can accommodate about 1000 people.Panchakarma and Shaktikarma Centre
This center with 40,000 sq. ft. capacity can accommodate around 1000 people to participate in panchakarma and shaktikarma therapy.
Herbal Garden & Agro Research Centre
The herbal garden has many medicinal herbs, shrubs, trees, and ornamental plants. The plants which are used in Ayurveda are present in this garden. There is a botany & seed laboratory, where identification and research take place.
They also have a big goshala which is about 12 km away from the center.
How to Reach Patanjali Yogpeeth
Patanjali Yogpeeth is located in Haridwar-Delhi National Highway, which is about 20 km from Haridwar and 15 km from Roorkee. You can reach Patanjali yogpeeth by taxi or bus from Haridwar. There are plenty of buses plying from Haridwar or Roorkee. The nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway station which is 20 km and the nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, which is 50 km in distance.
